Q. How do I increase my metabolism?

To increase our metabolic rate ( the rate at which the body burns calories), we need to build more lean muscle. The more muscle we have, the higher our metabolic rate; the less muscle we have, the lower our metabolic rate. A healthy diet with sufficient calories plays a vital role in keeping a fast metabolic rate. A diet with severe calorie restriction can switch your body into starvation mode a super efficient mode where the body will conserve body fat and use muscle tissue for energy leading to a slower metabolism due to a further reduction in muscle mass.

 

Q. How many personal training sessions a week should I do to lose 5kg  of weight?

We recommend partaking in a regular training program that involves cardiovascular and resistance training  at least 3 -6 times per week with ongoing monitoring of your diet .

 

Q. What is functional exercise?

Functional Exercise involves movements that strengthen major muscles, stabilizing “core” muscles, soft tissue, joints and bones simultaneously in support of activities performed in our daily lives. Functional exercise improves functional everyday performance, which means moving more freely and easily without pain, and having the ability to do what you need and want to do, when you want to. Whether running to catch a bus, avoiding a fall when you lose your balance, being able unload groceries out of the back of your car, picking up a ball or playing basketball in the driveway with your grand children,good functional performance is vital for good quality of  life.

 

Q. How can  a personal trainer help me?

A personal trainer is a qualified fitness professional that can help you achieve success  by designing a goals focused exercise program suited to your needs. The trainer will work closely with you to keep you motivated and on track to success. He will monitor your progress at regular intervals and when required make adjustments to your program as you get stronger. He will also if needed help you with your diet to make sure that is compliments your goals.

 

Q. Do I need fitness equipment for personal training?

No, you don’t need any fitness equipment as our trainers bring all the equipment necessary for each training session.

 

Q. Can I train with a friend?

Yes our personal trainers are equipped to train 2 – 10 people at a time. Training with a buddy or a group also makes sessions more affordable.
